Gerald Villoria is a veteran communications leader and passionate storyteller. He combines a 10-year journalism background with 14+ years of experience in public relations for companies like Blizzard Entertainment.

He founded d20 communications to help game studios of all sizes grow their audiences, safeguard their brand reputations, and build authentic connections with their players.

Gerald’s unique experience provides the teams he supports with valuable insight into player behavior and psychology, and has proven experience in identifying the kinds of stories that can resonate with players and generate interest from content creators and the games media.

For more than 11 years, Gerald played a key role on the public relations and editorial team at Blizzard Entertainment. He built and scaled a companywide media training program, supporting developers across all game franchises and leaders in business units such as licensing, esports, human resources, and business development. Gerald regularly provided strategic counsel to executive leaders and played a key role in helping the studio navigate numerous crisis communications situations. He also led key initiatives to build trust among the studio’s millions of players.

Gerald currently leads the communications function for Frost Giant Studios, where he supports a team of world-class real-time strategy game developers in building a new IP and growing a community from the ground-up.

Today, Gerald is eager to find ways to help studios of all sizes find their voice and share their stories with today’s gaming audience.
